Dominican Star
The Dominican Star is the student-led newspaper of Dominican University, where I started as an Assistant Designer in Spring 2024, eventually becoming the Chief Designer for the 2024-25 calendar year.
During my time at the Star, I mainly designed newspaper layouts for certain pages in conjunction with other designers during production day. I also created several editorial illustrations to accompany certain articles.
Several of my front page layouts from Fall 2024 ended up receiving the Illinois College Press Association’s (ICPA) 2nd Place Award for Best Front Page Layout in the Small Schools Category at the 2025 ICPA Convention.
